Red Dress Run – City of Mombasa  | In Mombasa, enjoy the city's Arab flavour in the Old Town with its narrow, crowded streets and street vendors selling all manner of local and imported craftwork; continue to the 16th Century Fort Jesus, now a museum, with son et lumière shows; the Old Harbour is an interesting place for early morning and late afternoon strolls, and is often filled with sailing dhows from the Yemen and Persian Gulf. End the run with food and drinks at Fort Jesus. | | Kaya Kinondo  | In Coastal Kenya the local sacred forest are called Kayas. They are pockets of forest of 10 to 400 hectares and owe their existence directly to the cultural beliefs and history of the nine Coastal ethnic groups. It is well represented in biodiversity and lends credence to the rich folklore associated with the site. It is the first sacred forest to open up for controlled ecotourism.
Visit the local community and pay a visit to the traditional Medicine man/Woman and witness a demonstration of an age old healing process. There is even the chance to take part!

| Approximately 80 kms from the ancient town of Mombasa, lies Shimoni, nestled right in the heart of the un-touched jungle Shimoni is home to a series of deep mysterious coastal caves that stretch from the sea deep into the jungles. Historically, these caves served as holding pens for thousands of slaves awaiting trans-shipment to the infamous Zanzibar slave market for onward shipment to Arabia. Run along serene mangrove forest around coral gardens with ancient tombs of the slave masters of the 18th and 19th century. End the run inside these caves and take a 15-minute excursion through them.
The bird list consists of 64 species including the Mangrove and Pied Kingfishers, Fish Eagle and brown headed parrot . See giant baobab trees, hundreds of years old. One such tree took 12 people with their hands help out to go all around. | | Chale
| Chale Island is about 600 meters from the mainland and 10 km south of Diani on the Kenya coast. It is a nature reserve with a white, sandy beach, tropical rainforest and wildlife (Reserve), a wealth of animals, bird life and sulphur springs. The island is host to the natural phenomenon of inland mangrove lakes subjected to the natural changes of tides. | |
