Special Announcement

Hashers of the World, Jambo!

At a meeting of the WIH 2012 bid committee, it was decided that Kenya would go ahead and host an event in Mombasa as announced by Father Hen, Bid Chairman on Sunday 4th July 2010 in Kuching.

We heard your sentiments in Borneo and continue to hear and read them on hashspace and other hash blogs.  It is obvious that a large number of you want to come to Kenya in 2012.

Our event will be held from 18th to 20th May 2012 in Mombasa and has been programmed exactly one week before the original date and still falls within the "great wildebeest migration" period in Kenya .

All the pre and post events mentioned in our Bid will be made available . The Spice Island Hash Cruise to Mombasa, will now start on 14th May 2012.

We are determined to give a fantastic hash event to all the hashers who urged us on and continue to urge us on. We will unfortunately not be bidding again to host the World Interhash.

Current registration fee for the event is USD175.

The Great Hash Migration on

In 2012, the world will respond to an irresistible calling to gather for the wildest event ever run…. The Great Hash Migration on Kenya - right at the Cradle of Mankind!

Great Hash Migration 2012

The event is aptly named after the Wildebeest Migration, Africa’s greatest wildlife attraction. The legendary Migration is a dramatic story undertaken from Tanzania’s Serengeti plains in the south by a million wildebeest in the inescapable cycle of life when they begin a frenzied 3 week bout of territorial conquests and mating rituals as they head across the crocodile infested Mara river in Kenya’s Maasai Mara, raising clouds of dust that can be seen from as far as outer space.
